Lateral Inspection Program
A sewer lateral is the pipe connecting the building to the wastewater collection system at the street. Often times, this pipe can become problematic when grease build-up, sediment accumulation, tree root intrusion, and pipe collapse occur. These problems can lead to sewer clogs and excess water being allowed into the wastewater collection system.
Whenever a home or business is bought, sold or transferred, a lateral inspection must be done. Please see the municipality ordinance that was adopted by Dallas Borough, Dallas Township, Kingston Township and Jackson Township that authorizes this inspection process.
